Activity 3: Jamestown

You should know that the first permanent English settlement in the New World (or Atlantic World) was at Jamestown, in the first English colony of Virginia. Watch the video provided by the link below and answer the question that follow.

Answer the following questions based on the video:

1. What was the ultimate goal of the settlers at Jamestown?
2. The narrator listed three reasons why people came to Jamestown. What were they?
3. Newt Gingrich talked about the freedom the settlers in Jamestown experienced. He listed three types of freedom. What were they?
