1. Watch this episode of According to Jim, Jim Almighty. In this episode Jim thinks that he can design women better than the creator did. Many gender stereotypes are depicted and reinforced (and some are even abandoned) during this show. Keep track and write down all of the stereotypes for men and for women that are mentioned in the show. With your group, discuss and classify them into physical, sexual, personality, social, and emotional and discuss whether they are accurate, inaccurate, or an exaggeration of a true difference.

3. This discussion assignment is related to your Chapters 11 and 12 (Salkind) material.
Post the following:
For this discussion, you are going to design a study that uses a dependent samples t-Test design and a study that uses an independent samples t-Test. Be sure to base your two studies on the same general topic (in other words, apply the same research question to a study where you would use an independent samples t-test design and a study where you would use a dependent samples t test design).
a)What’s your independent samples t-test study? Tell me your IV and how you would manipulate the IV, and your DV. This needs to be your own original study idea.
b)What’s your dependent samples t-test study? Tell me your IV and how you would manipulate the IV, and your DV. This needs to be your own original study idea (and it needs to be the same general topic as your independent samples t-test study).
Base your two studies on the same general idea.

c). Evaluate whether each study design are appropriate examples of a dependent sample design and an independent sample design. Explain why it is or is not appropriate study for that type of design.
