Students are expected to write a brief (approx. 1000-word) response paper that addresses some of the major issues discussed throughout the lecture and respective reading material. Students should develop their own critical stance on this particular theme, reading, or case. These response papers may take one of two approaches:
Students may choose to focus on one specific reading from the corresponding three-week block. Students should identify and clarify the author(s)’ argument; relate the author(s)’ argument to themes and cases discussed during lecture; and develop a critical stance in response to the author(s)’ argument; or
Students may choose to focus instead on a wider thematic issue that cuts across several of the readings from the corresponding three-week block. Students should fully explain this particular thematic issue and discuss the major debates relevant to this issue. Students should identify key figures and critical cases.

> Calibri, 12-point font, double-spaced, left justified
> Must include references (see syllabus for citation notes and writing resources)
Ps. It’s not just about introducing the arguments of all the authors from the reading materials, the essay is about forming a strong argument of my own and elaborates it through the statements of all the pieces of evidence(quotes from reading materials), you cannot totally agree/disagree with those authors’ opinions, this essay must be a critical thinking
