All the way back in Week 5, I asked in a discussion question whether you thought any scientific fields other than sociology may be color-blind. As I read your responses, I became aware that I had not adequately introduced the concept of color-blind racism or color-blindness. Therefore, I decided to incorporate closer study of this in Week 12. Exam 3 will also likely be dedicated to this topic.
In 500 words or more, please respond to the following questions.
1) What are Bonilla-Silva’s four kinds of color-blind racism? Please give an example of how you think each may provide people with an opportunity or excuse to ignore “pressing, systemic processes of inequality”, as noted by the Atlantic article.
1. In the same word document, continue your analysis by developing at least two or three questions you have about the source. For example, you may consider what about the source makes you curious/doubtful/confused, or consider what additional information you would like to know to deepen your understanding.
In your responses, please be sure to include consideration of the intersectional positionality (the different identities) of the author of the primary source, to the best of your ability. That is, how do you thinks the author was influenced by their ideological, political and socioeconomic contexts/networks, and what kind of audience and impact/relevance might this primary source have had historically.
This means that you will likely need to conduct research on the author of the source
