Assignment #2: GREAT Annotated Bibliography

Review the GREAT Learning resources and spend time reading and learning about your GREAT Essay cultural icon to build knowledge and resources for the essay. Select five (or more) sources that you plan to use in your essay to create an MLA style annotated bibliography.

Criteria – Your annotated bibliography should include:

MLA style entries
for five (5) sources from CCBC’s Library Database
One (1) of the five (5) sources MUST be a non-text source (image, video, audio, etc.)
Summary and analysis for each of your selected sources
Quotes/paraphrased sections of the sources that you plan to include in your essay with MLA citations in parentheses

Connect the content from the sources in your annotated bibliography to the questions from the GREAT Assignment Prompt. Respond to the questions using information from your sources.

Analyze the artist’s career:
What have they contributed?
Why is it valuable?
Apply Klosterman’s concepts to your analysis and argue in favor of the enduring importance of this person’s work:
Why will people of the future remember this individual as the representative of an entire genre of creativity?
Explain why the artist of your choosing is “the John Philips Sousa” of his or her genre (like the way Klosterman argues that Sousa represents all of marching band music and Bob Marley represents all of reggae).

Criteria (based on LUMEN Resource):

Response to questions should be organized into 2-3 paragraphs by topic.
Include quoted or paraphrased examples from the sources in your annotated bibliography, with MLA citations.
Include an MLA style Works Cited entry (or copy your Annotated Bibliography) for each source included in your post.
