Group Roles

In this assignment you will reflect upon roles that you have played in various groups.

Step 1: Please read Chapter 7 of our textbook.

Please focus particularly on the charts that describe task, maintenance, and negative roles in small groups – p. 175-176 (p. 176-177, 6th edition) – in our Trenholm textbook Please also refer to chapter 7 overall for discussion of group roles.

Step 2: Please consider three specific roles you play/have played in groups in which you are a member (current or past). You can select one group or three separate groups.
Step 3: Please respond to the following questions/prompts:
Identify three specific roles you play/have played in groups in which you are a current or past member.
Please provide an example of how you have played each role.
Describe in detail the effectiveness and/or ineffectiveness of the presence of such roles in the group.
Why do you/have you assumed each of these roles?

Please italicize or bold course concepts and provide page numbers for each.

This paper should be about 1-2 pages in length, double-spaced.
