What are some implications of some short-term and long-term effect towards families?

What I have

Parenthood is being responsible for the well-being of another human being. As a child immigrant myself, I am well aware of the sacrifices and turmoil that parents (in this case, my mother) have to go through when making the decision to immigrate to this country. The webinar and the statements provide conclusive scientific evidence of what this policy does to families: Separation of families can have lasting consequences that endanger the well-being of children.

As an immigrant, I consider to be a personal duty of mine to educate those around me about taboo subjecs such as immigration. As stated on the webinar, this is not about sadness but about humanity. Time and again, we have been thought that family is the foundation of our society. Yet policies as this, are telling us that not all families are the same. It is imperative to be informed about federal and local policies that endangered the development of future generations . Several of the panelist provided a few resources to help. One thing that caught my attention was the mention of becoming of the government becoming immigration friendly. This in hopes to help its population change their view about those coming to this country. I see it as  a systematic attempt to humanize our country.

Consequently, it comes to no ones surprise that these children are suffering an inconceivable disruption in their physical and cognitive development. 2
