LCMS lab post lab questions (Answer in a sentence or two). Lab points for this lab, participation (2 weeks) 25 points, pre-lab questions 3 points, post lab questions 22 points.
1. What was the MRM transition (precursor ion and product ion) used each of the drugs in this study?

2. What is purpose of adding internal standards? What type of internal standards are best for LC-MS/MS quantitation? What internal standards did we use?
3. Explain in your own words what the purpose of the addition of acetonitrile in this procedure (section 1.3 of the procedure).
4. Your team analyzed a patient serum sample for drugs. Write a brief summary about the concentration of drugs found for each patient. In your summary you should address the presence of metabolites, level of toxicity, and speculate if alcohol was also used. Make a statement on whether drugs may have contributed to the patient’s untimely death. Note: if the results indicate that the conc. was N.I. that means the level was higher than highest calibration point. If the conc. reported is a negative value, than it should be reported as not detected. If the value is positive but less than the lowest calibration standard concentration (our lower limit of quantitation), report it as <LLOQ.
