1. LITERATURE REVIEW (Controversy Essay) ASSIGNMENT – 30%

Each student will have the opportunity to conduct research in an area of interest pertaining to course content.  The purpose of this research is to examine how children’s behaviour and mental health are impacted by the area of interest, and review research related to interventions or varying perspectives. Students are expected to pose an initial question or stance related to their area of interest. When reviewing and analyzing literature students are expected to review at least TWO interventions or opposing perspectives and take a stance at the end by making recommendations and final conclusions. For example, one might consider the benefits of ABA therapy for children with ASD. While discussing the benefits of such an intervention you must also present the reader with the downfalls of such a treatment or compare with another intervention.
