Erik Erikson is one of the theorists of the mid-1990s. The theorist presented “Erik Erikson’s Stages of Psychosocial Development”. The theory explains eight stages of development. He explained wide variety of psychological issues associated with different age groups at different stages of life. At certain stage, there is a basic virtue which is linked with the psychological problems. “Erikson’s chart of development in the form of 7 psychosocial conflicts that give breadth to the central crisis of generativity vs. stagnation” (Slaterm 2003). The table below shows the different stages with age groups, the issues and basic virtue attached with the group (Erik Erikson’s Stages of Psychosocial Development – The Psychology Notes Headquarters, 2020).

Erik Erikson’s Stages of Psychosocial Development applies to my own learning development. I have been thorough most of the stages of development, the same way, as described by the theorist. I have faced several issues in my stage of development as described by him. At this development stage, I have struggled with my own identity. I have been facing Intimacy vs. Isolation issues in my age and I have learned a lot about my own self from this learning experience along with the development of my personality.
