The purpose of this assignment is to integrate pharmacology concepts learned in this course into an evidence-based educational tool related to medication use in rehabilitation patients or populations.
Develop an educational tool, in a media format from the options below, that you could utilize for patient, staff, or community education on an aspect of pharmacology learned in this course. Examples include: An educational video about drug effects on the body; an infographic about a specific medication’s effect upon therapy; a website educating someone about a specific category of drugs. Although you must integrate rehabilitation into your work product, the main emphasis of your presentation should be pharmacology-related.
Format options:
Your presentation should include each of the following components:
- Purpose/Objectives (3 pts)
- Scope of information (20 pts)
- Clear integration of pharmacology concepts or applications covered in this course
- One specific clinical example/scenario used to illustrate the concepts or application
- Information that is relevant, accurate and evidence-based.
- Direct relationships to rehabilitation patients or therapy interventions
- Organization/Presentation (10 pts)
- At least one educational image (or one educational visual aid if producing a video). Educational images are those that convey data or clearly illustrate a learning point (e.g., graph, chart, diagram) (2 points)
- Three (3) evidence-based sources; includes references (2 points)
- Appropriate length/breadth/depth to cover topic (3 points)
