• Provide a well-formulated thesis statement. If you are not sure how to properly construct a thesis statement, research the topic. You can contact the UMUC Effective Writing Center and also visit their website. At their website, there is information on formulating a thesis statement.
• Identify your research strategy(ies); for example, use academic and government sources; conduct interviews; collect and analyze data.
• List at least 4 high quality references, such as peer-reviewed journal articles or substantive government sources on the topic, cited in correct APA reference list format as a preliminary bibliography.
