The purpose of this course is to provide students with an analytic introduction to East Asian political thought and culture from 551 BC to the present.
Grading instructions: need to have 3 citations per page from class material (book, notes, lectures). The citation format is not a big deal as long as it is clear and consistent. For lecture citations, cite the date of the class you’re are citing ex. (Magagna Lecture 11/06/2020). Make an argument in your first paragraph that you try to defend throughout the paper, primarily using class citations. You can also draw on other material from personal life, other classes, news, etc if it helps improve your argument. For example, if answering the question about confucianism and the family, you can compare and contrast to western views of the family or discuss how you think that shapes chinese political ideology. Just remember to go back to class material as much as you can.
Please read the entire book then to answer.
