Reflective writing on either -Race, Nationalism and Gender/Sexuality

For your first summative assignment on this module, please select one of the subjects covered in weeks 2 to 8 (Multiculturalism, Race, Nationalism and Gender/Sexuality) and write a piece of reflective writing on the topic. You must however choose a different topic from the formative assignment. This could cover one or more of the following topics:

Does the lecture confirm or challenge what you thought about this subject previously? How did any new material make you think differently?
Is this subject thought about in the same way or differently in your country/culture? How might this impact on your studies?
What connections are there between this topic and the degree that you are studying next year?

Your writing should:

Engage with the theory or theories discussed in the lectures and the seminars

Refer to a number of sources, including at least one of the weekly readings

This purpose of this assignment is to enable you to demonstrate:

critical engagement with a theoretical approach to a key academic topic
an awareness of cultural, societal and academic differences between your home country and an academic environment in the UK
an ability to use and to refer to source material in line with British academic conventions
