A health care that I am familiar with is St. Francis Hospital and they provide good and quality service. The functions and flows that need to be performed by their marketing channel is creating a social media platform. Social media is a worldwide known platform that is used by millions of people, such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter. Along with creating a social media platform the information on their should be up to date and accurate. Those are the type of things that people look for, especially when they’re new to the area. A situation that wold call for channel conflict management would be if a couple with kids from out of town get into an accident, and the closest medical facility that is near is St. Francis. They look on Facebook because that is the only social media application they know how to use. They get on their page and notice that it is not up to date or do not list the service/product that they provide. They become really upset and leave negative reviews on the website. They end up going to the hospital because they need assistance, but they ask to speak to manager and recommended that their social media platform be updated.

DISCUSSION:

Part 1.) Select a health care provider with which you are familiar and determine the role of patient-centered care by that provider, its impact, and the best way for that provider to leverage or encourage word-of-mouth marketing. Include the role of the marketing department and recommendations for improvement.

Discuss the best way to leverage the latest electronic interactive direct-marketing tools in health care. Consider the role of social media. Is Facebook today’s form of word-of-mouth?

Part 2.) Respond to a classmate and provide feedback on their thoughts on how to promote patient-centered care.

The type of health care providers that will be discussed are nurses. Nurses do a lot in the community and they serve an important role, The roles of community health nurses are considerable. They teach residents through health expos and group classes. They go to patients’ homes, community centers, hospital facilities and long term care facilities. They often act as home care nurses or visiting nurses, public health nurses,hospice nurses, school nurses, community advocates and parish nurses. They make a big impact to the world, especially with the pandemic going on. They risk the exposure of their lives going to and from work everyday taking care of exposed and/or sick patients. The role of the marketing department is to contribute a strategy to help attract more health care customers, help them through their journey, and to keep them updated with the health care system. In my opinion, the marketing department is doing a great job with what it is doing so far…using social media, especially face book is a great way to attract more customer with it being the number one used application for social interactions.

The most important thing I learned in this class was that social media platforms can have a big impact on a health care organization. As i did my research, I learned more and more and I found it interesting, Face book is the number one used social application used in the United States, so for an health care organization to share its information on there is very helpful. By doing so, it can educate and share valuable content, that some people may be looking for. It can also help you remain compliant, meaning that it can help you attract health care customers in need. Also, keeping your social media platform would be very useful, especially to people who is new to the community or is looking for a new health care provider. An innovative approach that I would suggest to the help the future would be to update their social media every six months if possible. These learnings can be applied to my future if I wanted to become an entrepreneur. I would create a business page on social media to get more business and to share my content, updating my page every time I got new items or restocked.
