For your term paper you will need to summarize the content of the article ”The Productivity Puzzle” then extend its content with your own suggestions for what the federal, state, and/or local government as well as local businesses can do to increase worker productivity in your area. Please see below for specific paper instructions and grading rubric.
Paper Requirements:
Your paper should be 2 to 4 full pages long, double spaced, 12 point times new roman font, with at least one full page dedicated to each part.
The paper should have two parts.
The first part should summarize the content of the article. The summarization should include descriptions of presented measurements which relate to worker productivity, information on current trends in productivity and factors which impact productivity, and the author’s proposals for what can impact worker productivity in the future.
The second part of your paper should include your ideas for what can be done to increase worker productivity in your area. I suggest focusing on what the federal/state/local government could do as well what can be done by local businesses.
Your submission must be a Word document or a PDF (other formats will not be accepted).
Any data or other people’s ideas (other than the required article) you present must be cited.
Paper Grading Rubric:
The paper is worth 50 points. The paper will be graded on four criteria: thesis, content, commentary, and grammar and composition. Their value and summaries are as follows:
Thesis – 15 points – thoroughly summarize the content of the article
Content – 15 points – accuracy of the content summarized from the article
Commentary – 15 points – Present well thought-out ideas for what to do to increase worker productivity in your area
Grammar and Composition – 5 points – use correct mechanics of writing and present citations when appropriate
