Truth Conditions Discussion

This week, we are studying the conditional (if/then) and bi conditional (if and only if), and their role in communication and argumentation. We are going to run this discussion a little bit differently. You will construct an initial post. Instead of responding to classmates, you will work with me within your post to ensure you understand how to use a truth table to show truth value. You must post on a minimum of three days OR until I let you know your post is complete.

In your initial post, address the following:

Explain the difference between the conditional and the bi conditional. Include in your explanation the specific truth conditions for each connective.
Give one example of a conditional and one example of a biconditional.
Symbolize your examples
Put your example into a truth table showing the truth value of each of your examples

This is going to give us practice with the skills we need for next week’s presentation!
