One of the key takeaways from the first lecture was that it is difficult to operationally define cybercrime. I gave a few scenarios including a computer being stolen, a computer being hacked and data is stolen, a hacker sending out spam email, and attacking a website.
(1) What does the term cybercrime mean to you? How do you define cybercrime, and would you consider the three categories of cybercrime to be included in your definition or do some not fit?;
(2) For crimes where the evidence is digital and the damage is unclear, how do you feel it is best to go about investigating these crimes? For example, if a hacker uses a computer to attack a website, what is the crime? What is the damage? Where is the evidence?
