Primary source analysis

This assignment asks you to historically contextualize three essays (all found on the course moodle site):

· Frantz Fanon, “On Violence,” from Wretched of the Earth, 1961;

· Jalal al-i Ahmad, “Occidentosis,” 1984;

· Cabral, “History is a Weapon,” 1970;

Place the sources in dialogue with one another, analyze how they are asking similar questions (if coming to different answers), and articulating their theses. Your analysis should make use of the Bayly texts (and potentially additional texts) in order to situate the sources, and their themes, historically.
