Political Ideologies

For the second essay students will consider the first SIX ideologies (Liberalism, Conservatism, Socialism, Marxism/Communism, Anarchism, Fascism), and write a paper that argues which ONE political ideology is best as a foundation for human society, and which ONE is the worst, and why.

The essay must include a critical analysis of the chosen ideologies, including both advantages and disadvantages of the specific ideologies, and of course, why the specific ideologies were selected. Students will utilize the course textbook (as well as credible outside sources, if necessary) for references.

Essays must be NO LESS than three (3) but NO MORE than four (4) FULL double-spaced pages, (not including the required title page – see “Writing Guide” on the course website) (1-inch margins all around). ONE page is top margin to bottom margin! Use a traditional 10 or 12 point font only. I have included an informal Writing Guide on the eCourseware site for all my courses, but students are strongly recommended to have a formal guide to English grammar and syntax available, as grammar and syntax will consider heavily in writing assignment evaluations. The eCourseware site for this class will have the dropbox configured for these essays. PLEASE BE SURE YOUR SUBMISSIONS ARE IN MS WORD (.doc or .docx) OR .rtf (rich text format).
