In Ethics of Management, read the assigned chapter Research Theranos, the case of Elizabeth Holmes

Complete the HEF analysis determining 3-4 stakeholders for each major category:

Which stakeholder groups (dig deep) benefit and why? How are their rights recognized?
Which stakeholder groups are harmed (again dig deep) and why? How are their rights ignored?
Based on impacts above and your understanding of different moral standards being applied, what is the moral problem?
Given stakeholder groups, you identified in 1 and 2, what are the economic impacts on each group related to this moral problem?
Given stakeholder groups, you identified in 1 and 2, what legal ramifications are there for each group (if any)?
Given stakeholder groups, you identified in 1 and 2, what are the ethical duties based on universal moral principles for each stakeholder group?
Based on all analyses above, what is your proposed moral solution? What would you do and why?

PART TWO- 10points

Using the industry indicated in the assignment label, find a large publicly owned company in the same industry. You must access independent data on the companies as well as their corporate website.

For the company, look at their website. Check sections like “about us”, ”values” “mission” and other headings where they might talk about their social responsibility initiatives. Click on the links about their history, what they are doing to be a responsible company and really get a feel for how are they addressing the quintuple bottom line (QBL) issues of:

Balancing personal, social and community needs (People)
Ethical behavior (Ethics)
Concern for issues of fairness (Equity)
Environmental stewardship (Planet) and
Business value-added (Profit).

Next, look at independent resources to determine an outsider’s view of the company’s corporate social responsibility. Summarize your findings for each area above and cite your references.

PART THREE– 10 points

You will summarize how the 2 companies (1 from Part One and 1 from Part Two) are doing with Corporate Social Responsibility.

This section should be your own evaluation of

What they are doing well
Are they overall CSR focused,
Are they a “green” company/industry,
Can you respect their leaders,
What are a couple of things they need to address as a company/industry.
