Early childhood development

For this paper you will watch the film Babies and consider what you have learned about Theories of Development in the context of this film.  Write a three – four-page paper on the following topics/questions:

Taking into account what you have learned about theories of development, choose one of the babies in the film and consider the framework of Bio-ecological systems theory in their development.  Write one – two pages on this theory and the connections to the child’s development.

Then, consider another theory and apply that to the child’s development.  (Psychosocial, Cognitive, Behaviorist/Social Learning, Dynamic Systems)

Why did you choose this theory?  What about the child’s development helps you connect with this theory?  What questions do you have?

Finally, contrast the similarities and differences of the development of the babies in the four cultures.  Based on what you have seen and considered, do you think that there is a right way for children to be raised?

Please include at least three issues in developmental science in your paper, such as: the interaction of the domains of development, the contexts of development, nature & nurture, and the child’s active role in their own development.
