CASE STUDY INSTRUCTIONS

What you have to do is you go to my management lab and on the top of the list is a video that is entitled,”think like a manager”.In addition, this is a video. Video case of three exit interviews and then also in the modules as well as inMy management lab, you will see another video that’s, I think, number four on the list that’s on Zappos “motivating through culture”.

Therefore, you’re to write a five page analysis. In addition, here is what you are going to do.You take each one of these exit interviews and discuss the interview.

What is it that the employee is saying, why did they leave you want to try and tie what they’re mentioningTwo topics that we’ve covered in the course things like motivation practical applications of motivation like job design.It could be team environment. It could be leadership too much leadership too little leadership.You know different type of leadership. It could be the organizational culture. Therefore, you are going to basically analyze, which of these you think are leading each employee.To have left the company now in the real world. Obviously if you have an end of three right three employees telling you why they are leaving. That is not enough to make any significant changes.So you do need to kind of take a parentheses and say, okay, in the real world. What I would do to gather more data is the following. And tell me how you would go about gathering more data.Because ideally what you want is a lot of data from your different employees understanding, you know, with their job satisfaction. Their commitment there why it is that they’re turning over that they’re leaving the company.And that’s kind of a little, a little parentheses, just because I want to make sure that you realize that in the real world. This is something that you would do and tell me how you would go about doing it.And then finally, any good case analysis ends with some recommendations. So here I have, at a minimum, choose two to three changes but think through them really well and give specifics on how you would engage in those changes.But I don’t want a really lengthy page case analysis because part of what you need to learn to do is reallyCommunicate succinctly your ideas and your thoughts. Oh, okay. Please be careful about grammar, make sure that it makes sense. But you are supposed to double-spaced one-inch margins in size 12 font. Okay, that’s all I have just a very quick recording on what is expected of this group project by

In analyzing this case please follow and answer these questions:

1. Based on the exit interviews what are the different reasons why good employees are leaving (think through the concepts covered in class –motivation, leadership, culture –and list all the possible reasons you believe may explain the turnover).
2. How might you go about figuring out which of the reasons help explain the turnover.
3. Choose 2-3 changes you would consider making to deal with some of the potential issues that might be leading to turnover.  The key to a good case analysis is a presentation of what you perceive to be the major issues, what key concepts you think apply, some potential solutions to the problem and then your recommendation.
