For this exercise, I’d like you to complete two parts to let me know you have a solid understanding of your project as we move towards the first draft.
- Write your narrowed research question.
- Include bibliographic citations for at least three sources you plan to use to support the first section of your IMRaD introduction where you are explaining the existence of a problem and why it should matter to your audience. Two of these sources should come from credible sources.
- In a brief paragraph, explain to me why more research is needed to answer your question. Basically, I want you to explain why the existing literature you found is not sufficient to answer your research question. This is crucial to your paper, so make sure you feel confident about this section. Feel free to discuss limitations and what you did not find. However, if you discuss what you did not find, I need to believe that you completed a thorough-enough search to validate this line of reasoning. In other words, if you found only five sources and none of those sources answered your question, I will be skeptical because of the limited amount of sources you found.
