Research Prospectus

The research prospectus should be approximately 7 ½-11 ½ typed and double-spaced pages (the required title page and bibliography page(s) do not count toward this requirement), conform to formatting guidelines (12 pt. Times New Roman font, 1” margins, proper heading, etc.), and use APA style. For this assignment you will need to include an abstract page, which will count toward the page limit. The research prospectus should consist of the following sections, all of which should be labeled in the paper except for the Introduction with literature review: 1) Abstract (½ page); 2) Introduction with literature review (1 ½-2 pages; cite at least 4 sources in this section and do not directly quote); 3) Small-Scale Proposal (2-4 pages); 4) Large-Scale Proposal (3-4 pages); and 5) Conclusion (½ page to 1 page).

My general topic for the semester’s assignments has been “issues in the foster care system”. The research prosepctus can focus on many very broad issues in the foster care system and how the entire system can be reformed and improved for the children, foster parents, and workers etc.
