The choice of community is entirely up to you – I hope many of you choose a community you identify with, but that is not a requirement. While you will find some information in the course materials, you will likely need to do some research to find all of the information you need to complete this assignment. When discussing the needs of that community, some may be needs that are specific to that community (for example, fear of discrimination based on sexual orientation from health care providers), others may be true of many communities (for example, need for health education and better access to health care). Basically, I’m looking for you to identify some reasons the STI rates are higher in your chosen community, and some ideas for how these rates can be lowered.

Guidelines for citations and format are the same as the previous assignments, with the exception of length. I find that sometimes students have a lot to say about this topic, so you can use up to 3 pages for this assignment (you do not HAVE to write something longer than normal, but you have more space should you wish to use it). Specific formatting instructions can be found in the course syllabus.
